ATTENTION! Before contacting Antimatter, please read the entire FAQ page. It will answer most questions. If you email in a question that is already answered on this page, you’ll just be re-directed here. Sorry, we’re busy making cool shit and we want to save both of us time.

Why is it better to zoom from the Handguard?

You shouldn’t cheat in sports or in life, but in a gunfight, cheaters DO prosper. LPVOs give you a big advantage. The ability to use 10x power when IDing a target or taking a long distance shot is clutch. The problem with scopes is that you have to take your support hand off a firing position just to adjust magnification. When you do that, your barrel dips, and you may even lose sight picture. One thing is for sure: you’re not going to shoot while zooming.

With the Scopeswitch, you simply pull back with your natural c-grip to zoom. You retain your sight picture and you can shoot while zooming in or out.

Does it work for Left Handed shooters?

Yes it’s completely ambidextrous, even more so than your standard throw lever.

What is the height of the mount?

The optical centerline height is 1.93” for modern upright shooting with plate carriers and passive aiming with NVGs. Eventually we may do a 1.75” height but it’s going to be some time.

Can you reverse the Slider’s Direction of travel so it zooms in when you pull in?

Yes, you can attach the wire underneath the lug opposite of how it comes in the box. In the install video, follow the steps for a counter-clockwise install and you’ll get that effect.

What is THE ScopeSwitch compatible with?

As far as guns go, the Scopeswitch is compatible with any modern pic-railed carbine or rifle with at least 11.5” inches of NATO pic-rail space.

The Scopeswitch is designed to be used with LPVOs. Here are some optics that we recommend. Now, that doesn’t mean your scope won’t work; it just means it hasn’t been tested. Please email us if you find a new scope that works well so we can add it to this list.

Scopes with easy-to-twist zooms work the best. We can’t emphasize that enough. If there’s a lot of resistance when you try to twist your scope’s zoom ring/lever, it’s going to be just as hard, or harder, to push/pull the Scopeswitch slider. Before purchasing, please refer to the chart in the FAQ page to determine which scopes are easy to twist. Test how hard it is to twist your scope before buying.

ANY DOWNSIDES?

There are pros and cons to putting any accessory on your gun. Our biggest concern during the design phase was adding weight. We kept it as light as possible. The mount is only 6.3 ounces. For reference, that’s the same as many of the leading tall LPVO scope mounts. The entire assembly is 10.5 ounces.

Now, obviously it takes up rail space on the handguard, but we made sure you can still mount a laser or light on the top pic rail of a 10.5” carbine. If you’re concerned about not being able to put your light/lasers pressure switches on top, there are m-lok button mounts, like the Unity Modbutton.

Does it work better with First or Second Focal Plane Optics?

Either one, it’s a preference thing, both have their strengths and weaknesses.

What length barrel is suggested?

The Scopeswitch is designed for recce style weapons, but will work all the way down to 10.5’’ barrels. For increased velocity and terminal ballistics with 5.56, we recommend a 12.5”, 13.7” 14.5”, 16” or 18”.

Is the ScopeSwitch Reliable?

We spent hours in the design process ensuring the mount is rugged and overbuilt. Although more expensive to manufacture, we chose high strength 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum, 4140 steel lugs and high tensile steel cable. In our drop testing, we found that optics and rifle buffer tubes break before the mount gives. Watch the torture test video here.

do you Have LE/Military Discounts?

Eventually we will, but not for a bit. This was really expensive to develop, but we love supporting those in uniform. Stay tuned.

Will you be selling to dealers or distributors?

Not at this time, most likely in the future.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Currently, no. Eventually, yes.

Do you provide T&E units?

Not at this time.

Will you have an electronic version?

Yes, we’re in development. Be advised that it is inherently heavier than the manual version due to the battery and motor. On the plus side it will work with clip on thermals and Nightvision. In terms of use, it’s similar to driving an automatic vs a manual. Manual gives you a little more feel and control. The Scopeswitch is patent pending and we’re serious about protecting our IP for all versions.
